What is Old English lettering?
Old English, blackletter and gothic script all describe the broken, angular letterforms used across Europe from the 12th century on. Fraktur was the German standard in print until the 1940s; Textura and Old English are the English and Latin relatives. Typical features are the sharp, broken curves and the heavily decorated capitals, which is why the style is a favorite for names, tattoos and streetwear.
The generator uses the Fraktur characters from the Unicode standard. They look like printed blackletter but are plain text you can paste anywhere.
